Durability

Stucco is long-lasting and is famously known for its longevity. When you work with us, our expertise allows the stucco to be installed correctly so that it can last decades without needing much maintenance at all. Stucco is fire resistant, as well as being resistant to pests and normal wear and tear. It can handle all different types of climates, and is used commonly throughout the southern parts of the country due to its excelling in hot, dry areas. It can handle all types of extreme weather conditions, including heat, rain, and wind. But just ensure everything is installed and sealed properly by utilizing our stucco installation services. Besides normal weather conditions, stucco is non-combustible, providing that extra layer of protection against fires. These make stucco ideal throughout California but really all over the country in any climate. When you use us, your stucco is properly sealed, and this also provides added prevention for the potential growth of mold or mildew on exterior walls. This goes in conjunction with its water resistant abilities, which allows it to combat moisture in the air for areas with frequent rain or humidity.

Energy Efficiency

This is pretty important nowadays, as we battle climate change and other issues with the environment and changing conditions. Also increased costs for everything puts pressure on us as well. So the combination of wanting something that is energy efficient to help the world as well as reducing costs for you, stucco provides that great result you are looking for. Studio is a great insulator, which helps maintain a stable temperature in your home or building. The stucco plus the insulation combine to reduce energy bills with improved cooling and heating efficiency. Stucco also has thermal mass, which means that it can absorb in the heat during the day and then release it at night, which allows your home or building to maintain indoor temperatures, especially in areas with significant temperature swings like those that we can sometimes experience in the Sacramento area. Stucco also has good soundproofing qualities, so that it can reduce noise transmission from outside and between different rooms in the building. This can be especially useful for areas throughout Sacramento nearby freeways and other busy or loud areas, keeping your home or building quiet on the inside.

Low Maintenance

Stucco does not require much upkeep, especially when compared to some of the alternatives out there. It does not require continued painting or repairs. This makes it an excellent option for the exterior of your house or building. We do recommend occasional checkups, which we do provide as well. This will be more cost effective for you, and even then not costly at all and still just every few years for a quick inspection. Cleaning stucco helps maintain its lifespan, as well as perhaps an occasional sealing, to fix up any small cracks and keep the structure strong. In the rare case that there are cracks or damage, stucco is easy to repair. While we still recommend contacting us instead of trying to do it yourself, patching up small cracks is something we can easily handle. This will then allow us to maintain the structure of the stucco so that you do not need to replace the entire surface. Which makes stucco a great option due to its strong durability and easy maintenance and repair, keeping your structure looking good and staying strong for years to come.

Aesthetic Appeal

This may be one of the top reasons that stucco is so commonly used in this area and throughout the country. There are quite the variety of textures and finishes that stucco offers, starting out very smooth and getting all the way to quite rough options. This allows the homeowner or business owner to achieve any specific aesthetic they are looking for. It also comes in just about any color you can imagine, so it allows you to be really creative with your design. With these options, stucco is commonly seen in certain types of architectural styles, such as the more traditional Mediterranean, Southwestern, and Spanish Revival styles. But that does not mean it is limited to just those. Stucco has been incorporated quite often with more modern designs as well as it provides a timeless and versatile appeal. It also is one of the only options that provides a uniform look all around the building, despite various seams, joints, and frames. So the use of stucco provides a great clean and cohesive look for your exterior design. So stucco can provide timelessness to your home or building since it has been used for centuries and keeps that classic appeal. And with modern innovations it can be utilized with contemporary or historical home designs.

More Benefits

Cost Effective

There are a few ways in which stucco can prove to be the most cost effective option out there. We already discussed all the features of energy efficiency which help you save money in the long run. And also the durability of it provides for additional cost savings with very little repairs or maintenance needed. Stucco is also one of the cheaper materials upfront, usually quite a bit more affordable than other higher-end exterior options like brick or stone. And then the insulation properties combine with these to lead to long term savings and an overall great option in the choice of the stucco installation.

Eco-Friendly

Another great reason to choose stucco and goes back to energy efficiency as well where we are working on using reusable materials and making as little an impact on the climate as we can, to help maintain our world as it is. Stucco uses only natural materials such as lime, water, and sand. These are abundant materials and do not require drilling or other less energy efficient processes to acquire the needed components. It becomes a much better option than other synthetic materials that can negatively affect our climate and world. While it is a strong material so it provides the needed structure and durability you are looking for, it is also sustainable because it requires less replacements. So fewer building materials are needed to be used overtime and thus less waste is created.

Enhanced Curb Appeal

While we talked a little about this already, with its contemporary incorporations as well as classic style looks, stucco provides great options to showcase your home or building in a unique and classy way. This then adds curb appeal and overall value to your property. Stucco creates a sophisticated and elegant look with the smooth and clean surfaces it provides. Along with the creative options we mentioned and other new ones such as decorative moldings, textures, arches, and more that can really give your property a unique look. Stucco is known to be liked by investors and homeowners because of everything we discussed, such as the durability and low maintenance. So with our great services, your stucco installation provides long lasting value to your home. And the energy savings costs as well makes this a great option for you.

Consultation and Design

We want to work with you, and of course it is your home or property that is getting worked on, so we want to work as hard as possible to achieve your desired outcome. We love providing stucco products because they allow our clients multiple outcomes and variations, unlike some other options like wood siding or brick that pretty much offer just one look each. Our products offer different textures, colors and finishes for our applications, to allow you to achieve the desired look for your property. It also comes with an insulating effect, which allows us to work with you to result in energy-efficient products or also options to integrate insulation systems into the installation. Compliance is also ensured and important for us to maintain both safety for us and our workers as well as keeping up with local building codes and regulations. We abide by all safety and structural standards, especially specific ones in Sacramento county and surrounding areas in seismic areas.

Alternatives

When considering possible alternatives to stucco, there are a few things to consider. Any option would depend on your individual needs, budget, and design preferences. For a potentially more affordable option, vinyl siding and fiber cement are great choices, while brick, stone veneer, and wood siding provide a classic, traditional appearance. If you're aiming for a modern or industrial style, metal siding, concrete panels, and glass walls can be excellent options. Each material comes with its own benefits and limitations, so it's essential to select one that best matches your priorities regarding cost, durability, aesthetic, and climate compatibility. Consult us for all your options so we can provide the desired result you are looking for.

Brick

Brick is a traditional option, and quite durable typically made from fired clay. It is relatively long lasting with low maintenance required. It also is good with soundproofing and insulation, as well as fire resistance which can be very important nowadays in California. However, brick comes at quite a high ticket price. The custom or premium brick varieties are often the nice ones you want, and those can be quite expensive. The installation process is also quite extensive and detailed, resulting in highly skilled laborers requiring high wages. Brick is also quite prone to cracking, especially when it gets cold at night. Brick is also very heavy and may not even be possible to use in certain areas since it would require additional structural support to even use. So with those reasons we find that stucco often provides better results.

Vinyl Siding

Vinyl is pretty low cost and low maintenance, and easy to install. There are many varieties and colors, and it is lightweight. Because of this, it is prone to cracking or warping over time. The color can also fade over time with long sun exposure which happens in northern California. It does not provide great insulation qualities since it is so lightweight, so it is much less energy efficient. Finally it is not as aesthetically pleasing or timeless since it is just lightweight plastic.

Wood Siding

Wood is typically quite appealing to look at, with a nice natural appearance. Of course it is renewable although that depends on your stance on deforestation. Different stains and finishes offer some variety, and overall good insulation. But wood does require much more upkeep - regular maintenance with sealing, staining, painting, and waterproofing. Very susceptible to insects, termites, rotting, and mold. It also is pretty expensive, and it is not fire resistant.

Stone Veneer

Similar to full stone cladding although this is a lightweight alternative. It is quite durable and weather resistant, and the natural stone provides a luxurious look. It is also fire resistant and low maintenance. But this comes at an expensive cost with natural stone, and installation is labor intensive and difficult. Also very heavy and hard to install.

Types of Projects

As a stucco contractor, we handle all sorts of different projects. Sometimes we are contacted by a general contractor or larger construction company that is currently building a new home or building. They are in need of stucco to be applied to the exterior of the building. So once they finish that, they call us in to complete the stucco installation. These projects are pretty common for us and make up about 60% of the work that we do right now. We have different partnerships with local contractors to assist them with the stucco application while they continue the rest of the construction project. We have specialized in stucco so that is what we come in and do for them. The stucco we provide is a finish applied to the surface in layers, added to a building during construction or renovation. It provides the exterior covering that is needed for any building. The stucco is the outer finish or cladding on a building. It provides both protection and added aesthetic appeal.

Other projects include smaller renovations, and stucco repairs and replacements. Homeowners will reach out to us directly as they are looking to include stucco in a small add on or renovation project. We also get contacted if any homeowners have an issue or sees cracks or breaks in their stucco. There are many common misconceptions about what to do in this case. Many times people will see some cracks or breaks in their exterior walls and think they should just hire a painter to paint over it. When in fact stucco should not actually be painted over since it will then not allow the material to breath. Hopefully you at least consulted a good and honest painter, who would tell you to contact a stucco contractor in that case. So we will come in and assess the situation. Stucco is most commonly installed over wood lath, metal lath, insulated sheathing, brick or concrete. It is applied after the framing, roofing, and any weather-resistant barriers are in place. And then once the stucco is complete, other finishing touches are done such as exterior painting, trim, and landscaping.

Stucco repairs and replacements can be done on pretty much any house or building that needs it. If you notice any cracks in the exterior walls, contact a stucco contractor so they can come take a look. The stucco plaster can be analyzed to see what needs to be done. Most times a simple small repair can be done to restore that particular section that has any issues. The stucco exterior finish can be completed and then everything should be good. In rare cases there can be significant damage and it requires a full exterior finish repair which would need full stucco replacement. In this case we would completely remove the existing stucco, and complete a brand new installation of fresh stucco. This is something we will communicate to you when we first come to do an inspection of your existing stucco. We have enough experience doing this that it is no problem at all, but typically this is not too common. Since stucco does have so many great qualities that it should last long if installed properly by someone like us, so usually just a quick repair will be all that is needed for some owners after some time of having their stucco installed. If you are unsure about what you may need, just contact us so we can come do a quick inspection.
